Made in Wolverhampton
The Britool story began in 1908 with the British Tool and Engineering Company, which established its manufacturing roots in Wolverhampton. By 1920, the company had developed a substantial factory on Owen Road, producing professional hand tools, including one of England's earliest comprehensive ranges of bi-hexagon ring spanners and socket wrenches.
During the Second World War, Britool played an important role in supporting Britain's armed forces, reportedly supplying over 200 million wrenches, sockets and accessories.
This commitment to British engineering, precision and professional quality helped establish Britool as one of the country's most recognised names in hand tools – a heritage that continues through the Britool Hallmark range today.
The Hallmark range
Introduced in the 1980s, the Britool Hallmark range built on decades of British engineering heritage, combining professional quality, precision and durability with the practical demands of the automotive workshop.
Today, the range continues to offer professional hand tools, from sockets, spanners and ratchets to screwdrivers and specialist automotive equipment.
Now owned and exclusively distributed by TradeMarque Tools Ltd in Cannock, Britool Hallmark continues its tradition of supplying dependable tools for professional mechanics, engineers and workshops across the UK. Britool timeline.
