Sockets, Spanners and Bars
- Wipe tools clean after use and store them dry. A light oil film prevents surface rust on chrome and black-finish tools alike.
- Use the correct size. A loose fit rounds fasteners and damages drive profiles.
- Only use impact sockets on impact guns.
Important: Chrome sockets are not designed for impact use and can shatter. Using chrome hand sockets with impact machinery is not covered by the guarantee.
Ratchets
- Use a power bar to free tight fasteners, then switch to the ratchet.
- Keep the mechanism clean. If it becomes gritty, strip, clean and lightly oil it, or fit a repair kit.
- Do not use a ratchet as a breaker bar.
Screwdrivers and Bits
- Match the tip to the screw: Phillips, Pozidriv and Torx are not interchangeable.
- Do not use screwdrivers as chisels or pry bars.
